Our friend and comrade Gino was arrested earlier this week in France under a European Arrest Warrant. He is facing extradition to Hungary, where authorities accuse him of involvement in events that unfolded in February 2023 in relation to the anti-fascist demonstration in Budapest against the annual ”Day of Glory” demonstration organised by neonazis. Having lived in Finland for a decade and been active in local political movements, Gino is not only a comrade but also a good friend to many of us.

The treatment of anti-fascist prisoners in Hungary has been humiliating: they have been shackled, their access to healthcare has been restricted and their cells have been infested with cockroaches, bedbugs and mice. Such treatment is also awaiting our friend Gino if he is extradited to Hungary.

We would like to express our full solidarity with Gino and call on everyone to act to prevent another anti-fascist from falling into Orban’s hands.
