Gabriel Kuhn is a writer and the general secretary of SAC Syndikalisterna, a Swedish syndicalist labour union federation. The SAC is a union for workers from all professions and nationalities, as well as for unemployed and retired people. Unlike other labour unions in Sweden, the SAC is run by its members. Kuhn talked to us about his life in politics, the idea behind SAC, and how to improve workers’ organizing in Sweden and Finland.
Our friend and comrade Gino was arrested earlier this week in France under a European Arrest Warrant. He is facing extradition to Hungary, where authorities accuse him of involvement in events that unfolded in February 2023 in relation to the anti-fascist demonstration in Budapest against the annual "Day of Glory" demonstration organised by neonazis. Having lived in Finland for a decade and been active in local political movements, Gino is not only a comrade but also a good friend to many of us.
Before 1st of May, a few members of our group visited Frankfurt at the invitation of the local communist group Aurora Räteaufbau. During the visit, we interviewed representatives of Aurora Räteaufbau and its affiliated revolutionary women's organisation Aurora Frauenrat, discussing issues such as political organising, Palestine and feminism, as we feel it is important to network and exchange ideas with other political actors in building a communist movement for the 2020s.
We will gather at Senate Square at 17:00 and at 17:30 we will march through Aleksanterinkatu and Mannerheimintie to Narinkkatori.
